US News Likes Austin, But Loves Georgetown More!

In its article titled,”10 Great Places to Retire, If You Can Afford It,” US News singled out Cape Cod, Hilton Head, San Diego and the big cities of New York and Washington, DC among its 10 Places. While all of the cities ranked above the national cost of living index of 100, The Austin, TX metro area is most affordable with a score of 105.

“Austin, Texas. Located on the edge of the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Austin is known for the University of Texas, the state capital, and its world-class music scene. Georgetown, 30 miles north, features Victorian architecture, picturesque walking and biking trails, and the Center for Lifelong Learning at Southwestern University. Cost of living index: 105.”
