Informative Seminar on Continuing Care Retirement Communities

The ABCs of CCRCs was our topic for the March Seniors Living Smarter Seminar. What an amazing guest speaker we had with Dawn McQuain from Longhorn Village, she addressed the most frequently asked questions about Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs). The hallmark of CCRCs is their “life plan.” Residents pay an enrollment fee to be guaranteed care from independent, to assisted, to skilled nursing, or memory care as needed. Residents have peace of mind knowing not only that they will be cared for but what they will be paying for their monthly fee throughout their stay in the CCRC. We realize that CCRCs are not an option for everyone, but as is consistent with the goal of the Seniors Living Smarter Seminars we want to support seniors in knowing the facts about senior living options. If you were not able to attend the seminar but are interested in knowing more about CCRCs, give Virginia a call.

Our Seniors Living Smarter Seminars aim to equip, educate, and inspire seniors and their families to make informed choices and empowered decisions concerning lifestyle goals. Seminars are presented on the third Thursday of every month at First Presbyterian Church from 10:00 – 11:30 AM.
